SG Future Tribute is a brand new model, that is being introduced as part of the new catalog of Gibson USA for 2013. It is a part of the four-guitar tribute to Mr Les Paul. Each guitar are dedicated to a specific decade and LP and SG models built in it. However, Future Tribute models are made as a blend of features that are used on modern guitars and those used on earlier models. For example, this model features Steinberger`s gearless tuning machines on the headstock, while at the same time in the pickups department, '57 Classic humbuckers with open coils are installed. These pickups feature zebra coil design and are controlled through separate volume and tone knobs, with a three-way toggle pickup switch completing the controls unit. Neck on this model is made of mahogany and it is equipped with a modern asymmetrical contour. It is fatter on the bass side and thinner on the treble side, making it more ergonomic. 24-fret fingerboard is made of rosewood and it sports acrylic trapezoid inlays and 1.55" corian nut. Body of this model is made of mahogany, it`s flat, thin and has no top wood cover. Color palette includes Vintage Sunburst, Cherry and Ebony color schemes. The MSRP for this model is set at $1,499.
