SG '60s Tribute is a model made in honor of Les Paul and his contributions to the world of Electric guitars. For Gibson, 2013 is the year of Les Paul and preparations have already started. First thing is complete makeover of the catalog. Multitude of new models is introduced, including the Tribute line of affordable vintage-styled guitars. Existing models are being equipped with new color options and hardware appointments. SG '60s Tribute comes with a simple double-cut body made of mahogany. It`s thin, has beveled edges and a flat top, just the way SGs are meant to be. Lack of pickguard and minimalistic design indicates Gibson`s choice to focus this model on performance, rather than flashy looks. Bridge section is equipped with a regular combination of tune-o-matic bridge in the front and stoptail bar in the back. Pickups used on this model are Burstbuckers, modern day pickups with tone pretty faithful to the PAFs original SGs had. Neck on this model is made of mahogany and it features '60s slim contour with gloss finish on the back side. Rosewood fingerboard has 24 frets, figured trapezoid inlays and 1.55" corian nut. Grover tuners on this model can be changed for robotic tuners with an extra charge.
