SG Light 7 and SG Dark 7 area pair of seven-string twins with extended range, Seymour Duncan pickups and 24 fret fingerboards. They`re both aimed at either professional or rather affluent non-professional metal guitarists (they both cost $2,499). Top class craftsmanship, superior playability and classic metal tone of the iconic SH series pickups make these guitars more than worth their price.
SG Light 7 is the light-side twin of the SG 7 Limited Run duo. It comes clad in white (including white plastics), with white neck binding, white headstock and chrome-plated hardware. Entire body is made of several pieces of lightweight mahogany, resulting in a 4.2 lb body (average weight, may vary slightly). The neck is also made of mahogany; it has slim taper profile and fast access heel in the back, and a 24-fret richlite fingerboard on top (trapezoid inlays, 1.96" tektoid nut and 12" radius).
Pickups unit on the SG Light 7 is as mighty and powerful as on the SG Dark 7, it features a legendary SH-4 in the bridge and SH-1n in the neck position. Standard controls unit with four 500k pots (2x volume, 2x tone) and a three-way toggle pickup switch is installed along with the pickups. Two-piece bridge unit and Grover tuners complete the specs list.
