Ever since its inception, SG has been a hot rocking machine, made for bold and audacious players. Five and a half decades later, SG still rocks the world and is still the most important double-cut Gibson. 2017 USA lineup features six new SGs, including this 24-fretter. SG Special 2017HP kicks off with a solid and beveled mahogany body (twin horns, satin finish, small pickguard), combined with a one-piece mahogany neck (slim taper profile, fast-access heel, Soloist width) and 24-fret rosewood fingerboard (small block inlays, 1.745" wide zero fret nut, 12" radius, 24-3/4" scale). Vintage Sunburst and Heritage Cherry are the only available color options (both cost $1,299). Other notable features include G-Force robotic tuners, 490/498 pickups set (w/classic Gibson/SG controls layout) and aluminum bridge (w/titanium saddles).
