SGJ is a model in the same class as Les Paul series LPJ guitar. These are new starter models in SG nad LP lines. They are introduced just in time for 2013, which is dedicated to Les Paul. Along with these, Gibson USA introduced several new models and updated already existing ones, which will be available in 2013. SGJ is a solid bodied guitar with all-mahogany body and maple neck. Body is traditionally thin and has signature beveled edges. To make this model more affordable, Gibson scratched pickguard and glossy paint job from the specs list. Cherry, Chocolate, Rubbed Vintage Burst and White Trans are color options assigned to this new SG starter. Bridge section is equipped with a standard combination of tune-o-matic bridge and stoptail bar in the back. Pickups on this one are Modern Classic active humbuckers. They are controlled through Gibson`s standard and basic control unit, which is made up of separate volume and tone knobs with three-way toggle as the pickup switch. Neck is made of maple and it features vintage-styled `50s contour. On top of it rosewood fingerboard is installed. It has 24 frets with dot inlays. Vintage tuners and 24-3/4" scale complete the specs. The MSRP is set at $999.
