SGJ is the new starter model in the SG line. This brand new double cut comes with minimalistic design and super strong tone. This model is a part of the general makeover of the Gibson catalog for 2013. 1013 is the year of Les Paul and in his honor, Gibson has made several Tribute guitars, along with other novelties and updated models. SGJ belongs with the novelties and it comes with a solid, thin mahogany body with the iconic double-horned cutaway. Beveled edges are there, but the pickguard is not. It is taken off the specs list because of the minimalistic image of this model. Bridge section is a standard one, it features tune-o-matic bridge in the front and stoptail bar in the back. Bridge section is plated in chrome. 490R and 498T humbuckers are chosen for this model due to their versatility and strong tone. Separate volume and tone knobs are accompanied by a three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck is made of maple and it`s equipped with a '50s contour in the back. On it`s top 24-fret rosewood fingerboard is installed. Rubbed Vintage Burst, Cherry, Chocolate and White Trans are color options assigned to this model.
