AS153 is a hollow-bodied model, one of two Artstar series updates unveiled at 2017 NAMM. It is available in two options, Antique Yellow Sunburst and Jet Blue Burst. Both variants feature white binding, matching pickguards, split abalone inlays and non-matching headstocks. AS153 starts off with a thin, double-cut body made of flamed maple in its entirety. Carved top sports two "f" holes (on on either side of the bridge). The neck is made of mahogany and maple (3-piece construction, AS profile, glued-in joint) and it`s attached through a classic set-in joint. 22-fret ebony fingerboard (medium frets w/Artstar fret edge treatment, 1.69" nut) tops the neck. Major hardware and electronics appointments include Super 58 humbuckers (with special controls unit), ART-1/Quick Change III bridge unit and die-cast tuners.
