AS73 is a new model from Ibanez introduced at the NAMM show earlier this year. This one belongs to the AS line, which is made for rockers with taste in hollow-bodied guitars. Not much thicker than a regular solid guitar, AS73 is also stylized to look like a solid-bodied guitar. Body is fully hollow and does not feature center block. It is made of maple back, sides and top. Top panel is contoured and bound in creme binding. Also, it features a pair of elegant "f" holes with matching binding. Black, Transparent Cherry and Tobacco Brown are color schemes available for this model. All three are finished in gloss. Bridge section features the ART-1 bridge with stoptail bar in the back. Both components are plated in chrome and match the rest of the hardware. Pickups are active and come in H/H configuration. Standard controls unit features two volume knobs, two tone knobs and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Neck is made of mahogany and it sports the Artcore contour in the back. On it`s top Ibanez installs a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard.
