RG2228M is an eight-string model introduced into the RG Prestige series on the 2013 NAMM show. Among other prestige models unveiled at NAMM, RG2228M is the only one with eight strings. Classic double-cut body is flat on top, contoured in the back and made of basswood. Basswood is a frequent body tone wood in the RG range. On this model it is combined with EMG pickups. A pair of active 808 humbuckers is installed on the top in order to unleash the full potential of this 27"-scaled beast. Standard master volume, master tone and a three-position blade switch cover all essential controls, without overcrowding the electronics unit. Bridge in the back is Edge III fixed locking bridge. It`s black and matched with a locking nut on the fingerboard. Neck on this model is made of five pieces of maple and wenge. Super fast contour is found in the back and a 24-fret maple fingerboard on the top. White color beautifully contrasts the black hardware and comes with gloss finish.
