RG Prestige is the top series in the RG range. Models featured in this series are competing against the top Soloist/Superstrat models of other brands and the fact that top-level RG guitars have been around for more than a quarter of a century testifies that Ibanez is putting an enormous amount of effort into perfecting the RG range. For 2014, Ibanez has introduced a new lineup of RG Prestige models and RG852 is one of them. It comes with a solid and double-cut body made completely of basswood and bolted neck made of maple and wenge. Traditionally, body is flat and has no binding around the edges. Galaxy Black and White are color options available for this model. Both are finished in gloss and have cosmo black hardware. Instead of DiMarzio pickups, which are found on six and seven-string RG Prestige novelties, RG852 has EMG808 pickups. Master volume, master tone and three-position blade switch comprise the controls unit. Maple and wenge neck is made of five pieces of wood and is topped with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
