Iron Label RGIM Electric Guitars by Ibanez
RGIM7BC is one of three compound-scaled (or fan-fretted) guitars Ibanez had introduced at 2017 NAMM. It belongs to the metal-oriented Iron Label series, its newly formed RGIM branch.
RGIM7BC takes the standard seven-stringed RG concept as the base and adds some uniquely RGIM features. The body is made with an interesting and rarely seen combination of woods - mahogany base and bocote top (in Deep Forest Burst Flat finish). The neck combination is a more conventional one, it includes three pieces of maple with two bubinga stripes (Wizard 7 contour, modern four-bolt joint in the back). 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with fanned frets (25-1/2"-27" scale), side dot markers and 1.89" nut tops the neck.
EMG`s 808 (8-string guitar pickups) active humbuckers are a bit surprising choice for the electronics section. Seven-saddled Monorail bridge and Ibanez tuners complete this beast.
