SLATX-M 3-7 Soloist is one of five seven-stringed Soloist models Jackson introduces into the 2015 lineup of the acclaimed X series. It comes with a solid and contoured body made of basswood wings on the sides and the maple neck in the middle. Neck-through construction is the standard for the Soloist family, and the basswood/maple combo is the hallmark of the affordable X range (basswood is replacing the alder, which is saved for the more expensive series). Unlike some of its X series Soloist brethren, it features no maple top. Seven-saddled version of the battle hardened Floyd Rose Special bridge is featured in the bridge section (Floyd Rose Special is the standard locking tremolo option for many a metal oriented guitars with list prices under and around $1,000). Pickups department of this awesome seven-string is treated to a pair of mighty Seymour Duncan pickups. Nazgul sits in the bridge position, while the Sentient occupies the neck position. Though pretty new, these dual coil warriors are already gained a reputation as some of the most ferocious passive pickups ever. Maple neck rocks the speed contour in the back and a 24-fret maple fingerboard on the top. Jackson tuners, long 26-1/2" scale, piranha inlays and the locking string nut complete the list of features.
