EG-1 Standard V2 is a more affordable version of the EG-1 Custom V2 model. The Standard features a more subdued styling, and lacks some of the premium features, but it offers every bit of tone and playability of his more expensive sibling. Solid and single-cut Les Paul-like body of this model is made entirely of mahogany (Custom model, on the other side, has a body made of alder). Of course, being a travel-sized guitar, it does not have a carved top. Also, the binding around the top has been discarded from the features list, as EG-1 Standard V2 focuses on tone and playability. On the top, it features a tune-o-matic bridge. Strings run around the back of the body, and into the middle-positioned tuning machines. Tuners on this model are plated in chrome (instead of the gold featured on the EG-1 Custom). In front of the bridge, there is a full-sized humbucker pickup with chrome-plated cover. Master volume and master tone knobs make up the basic controls unit. Standard 1/4" output jack is accompanied by a pair of 1/8" jacks (one is a headphone out and the other is an aux in). Mahogany neck is bolted to the body, and topped with a 21-fret fingerboard made of ebonized rosewood. Jumbo-sized frets, crown inlays, 1-5/8" wide string nut and side dot markers complete the fingerboard of this affordable tone machine.
