Six new models make up the Artwood Vintage Thermo Aged series roster. Dreadnought, parlor and grand concert models are available for now.
Artwood is Ibanez`s biggest and mot important range of acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars, containing several sub-series and sub-ranges within its ranks. The most notable among them is the acclaimed Artwood Vintage section, which deals with both acoustic and acoustic-electric models made with traditional styling. Great success of the Vintage branch has prompted Ibanez to take things to the next level. The result is Artwood Vintage Thermo Aged, a six-piece series with vacuum heated tonewoods. The process makes the tonewoods lighter, dries them up and decompose resin, to achieve the tone several decade old guitars would have. The models featured in the starting lineup are: AVD10, AVN10, AVM10, AVD9, AVC9 and AVN9.
Ibanez AVD10 is a non-cutaway dreadnought guitar with aged back and top (they`re also made of solid wood). Brown Violin Sunburst paint job, elegant binding and tortoise shell pickguard evoke that vintage vibe. Rosewood, spruce and mahogany are the main tonewoods used on this mighty dread. Ibanez AVN10 is a parlor guitar with a bit shorter scale and reduced fingerboard (18 frets, 12th fret joint). Along with AVD10, it is the only model available in Brown Vintage Sunburst color. Ibanez AVM10 is one of two grand concert models in the Thermo Aged lineup. It belongs to the “10” tier, which means aged and solid back and top. Natural High Gloss finish, vintage hardware and tortoise shell pickguard give this GC a traditional vibe. Ibanez AVD9 opens up the “9” tier of the thermo Aged series, the section of the series which features aged tops and regular backs and sides. They, too, feature vintage styling and construction. Ibanez AVC9 is an all-mahogany grand concert model. It comes in Open Pore Natural finish (both body and neck), with black binding and tortoise shell pickguard. Ibanez AVN9 is the “9” tier`s parlor option. It comes with all-mahogany body and neck, as well as rosewood fingerboard. Only the top is Thermo Aged, while the back and sides remain regular.
