Two American Specials, four American Elite models and new The Edge Strat in the Artist line comprise a seven-piece lineup of Fender`s 2016 Winter NAMM novelties.
Here come Fender updates from this year`s edition of the winter NAMM in Anaheim, Ca. Just like the previous year, Fender went for a fewer number of guitars, concentrating on quality rather than quantity. Only seven electric models were unveiled at Fender`s booth. Six stringers only, no basses. Additional six acoustics also made their debut. Far more space has been given to amps and additional gear. Out of the seven models introduced, four belong to the new American Elite series. Their names are American Elite Stratocaster, American Elite Stratocaster HSS Shawbucker, American Elite Stratocaster Left-Hand and American Elite Telecaster. Two American Special models in the lineup are American Special Stratocaster (SSS) and American Special Stratocaster HSS. The lineup is rounded off with an exclusive The Edge Strat, a signature model made for U2`s The Edge.
Fender American Special Stratocaster for 2016 is a true rocker. It comes with a solid alder body with a modern maple neck and a choice between a rosewood and maple fingerboard. Texas Special pickups, modern trem bridge and Fender tuners bring a new level of power, precision and control. Fender American Special Stratocaster HSS has the same specs list as the SSS model, save for the mighty Atomic humbucker in the bridge position. Fender The Edge Strat is the only signature model Fender introduced this January. It is based on Edge`s own 73 Tobacco Stratocaster. The main feature which sets this Strat apart is the pickups combo. Instead of the stock pickups, The Edge Strat rocks a DiMarzio FS-1 in the bridge and a pair of Custom Stagger Fat 50`s pickups.
