Kazuo Yairi builds the top-tier Alvarez guitars in his home town of Kani in Gifu prefecture, Japan. CY118 is a model from his Yairi Classical Series and it is a classical guitar with non-cutaway design. It`s back and side panels are made of rosewood, while the top is made of cedar. cedar is the most common top wood for classical guitars, and on this model it is finished in gloss with a standard rosette around the sound hole. Traditionally, there are no pickguards on classical nylon-stringers. Bridge is made of rosewood and equipped with standardized classical shape. Neck is made of mahogany and it is attached to the body with a dovetail joint. It is topped with an ebony fingerboard. 19 frets, no inlays and 2" string nut wrap the fingerboard.
