SR255 is the basic five-string bass in the standard SR series lineup for 2014. It is based on the also newly introduced SR250 four-stringer. Everything, except the string count is identical on these two models. SR255 comes with a solid and double-cut body made of basswood (basswood is the most frequently used tonewood in the Ibanez catalog). It is paired with the standard three-piece maple neck. There are only two color options available for this model: Metallic Silver Sunburst and Pearl White. BOth are finished in gloss and both feature black hardware. Unlike the majority of SR models, SR255 (250, as well) has a flat-top body, similar to the RG guitars. On the top, Accu-cast hardtail bridge with five saddles is installed. In it`s front, a pair of CAP EXF N-2 humbuckers are featured. They come with a standard controls unit (master volume, balance and a three-band equalizer). Maple neck is fit with a fast and sleek SR contour in the back. On the top, Ibanez installs a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard.
