Thoroughbred series is one of the most prominent lines in Dean Guitars catalog. It is a relatively recent addition to the lineup, but it quickly jumped out as one of the pillars of the catalog. It deals with single-cut guitars made in the shape of the legendary Les Paul, the grandfather of all elegant and stylish guitars. Classic LP heritage is masterfully blended with Dean`s distinct and original styling. Tone is also 100% Dean. For 2013 Thoroughbred has received five updates, of which, one is Thoroughbred Graphyte. This one comes with a classic base made of single-cut body with carved top and a set in neck. Body is made of mahogany with carved maple top. Cutaway is extra deep to give better access to the higher frets. There`s only one color scheme available for this model and it is Graphyte on black base. Neck is made of mahogany, as well and it features C contour in the back. On top of the neck Dean installs a standard 22-fret rosewood fingerboard. Bridge section is also a standard one, as it includes a tune-o-matic bridge in the front and a stoptail bar in the back. Pickups are USA DMT design humbuckers.
