Thoroughbred series in Dean Guitars catalog deals with single-cut guitars made in the shape of the legendary Les Paul from Gibson. For Dean`s Thoroughbred series, one might say that, while it preserves the American heritage and styling, it represents Dean`s own style and take on the story. For 2013 Dean updates the Thoroughbred series with five new models. Solid bodies, massive tone and supreme build quality are the main traits of them all. Thoroughbred Stealth is one of them and it will be reviewed in this article. Body of Thoroughbred Stealth is solid, single cut and made of mahogany. On it`s top, there`s a plain maple cap with series standard carve. Creme binding and elegant satin finish decorate the body. Black is the only color for the Stealth. Bridge section is a standard one. It`s been tried and tested on countless models before and it`s featured on the Stealth. It includes tune-o-matic bridge in the front and a stoptail bar in the back. Pickups are EMG 81 in the bridge and 85 in the neck. Mahogany neck is set and equipped with C contour in the back. On it`s top, there`s a 22-fret ebony fingerboard.
