Back in the `90s, Epiphone had a successful LP-based line of Hawk models. These had a bit modernized, edgier design but were, in essence, the classic Gibson/Epiphone guitars. To differentiate them further from the the parent series, Epiphone gave the Hawk models hardtail bridges, different pickups combos and different decorations. For the spring of 2015, Epiphone is rebooting the Hawk line once again through the magnificent Blueshawk Deluxe. This single-cut semi comes with mahogany back and sides, and maple top. Top is made of AAA class flamed maple and features the classic creme binding. the back is also bound in creme, and is arched. On the top, the series standard hardtail bridge with six adjustable saddles is installed. In front of it, there are two P-90 Pro single-coil pickups with a modified controls unit. The unit contains a master volume, master tone, blade pickup selector and a 6-position Varitone switch. This gives an inexhaustible amount of tonal options. Neck on this model is slim, fast and made of mahogany. On its top, Epiphone installs a standard 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with diamond inlays. Set of vintage-styled tuning machines completes the list of major specs.
