Gibson Custom is primarily known for their super exclusive and vintage-styled Les Paul guitars. Recreating the historically significant guitars and offering them to contemporary players keeps the flame of the 1950s and 1960s alive and burning bright. One of the most sought after vintage electric guitars is the three-pickup LP from 1957. For the summer of 2014, Gibson Custom recreates this magnificent axe in a limited number of copies. Single-cut body of this killing machine is made entirely of mahogany, as is the set in neck. In accordance with the tradition, Gibson Custom offers the 1957 Les Paul Custom 4PU VOS in Ebony color with nitrocellulose Gloss finish and gold-plated hardware. Goldtop is omitted this time (Ebony and Goldtop were the original color schemes Les Paul picked for his single-cut guitar with burst and other solid colors joining the roster in later years). Three active humbuckers with gold-plated covers comprise the pickups combo for this one. They are controlled through the standard four-pot unit and a three-way toggle pickup switch. Mahogany neck has the classic 1950s contour in the back and a bound ebony fingerboard to keep up with the surgically accurate specs list. Set of vintage-styled tuning machines completes the specs list. The MSRP for 1957 Les Paul Custom 3 PU VOS is set at $4,799.
