The original 1960 Les Paul is one of true classics of the early era of solid-bodied Gibson guitars. Perhaps, only overshadowed by several other Les Paul models (1952 Goldtop, 1954 Goldtop, 1954 Custom, 1957 Goldtop & Custom, 1958 Standard and 1959 Standard). Standard Historic 1960 Les Paul Standard comes in without the extensive color palette featured on Standard Historic 1958 and 1959 models, sporting only Washed Cherry VOS (with Cherry back, nickel-plated hardware, aged plastics and nitrocellulose lacquer finish). The MSRP is set at intermediate (intermediate for Gibson Custom catalog) $6,499, making it the most expensive Standard Historic model. Main features include hand-selected (lightweight, one-piece) mahogany body, top-grade flamed maple top, 1960-shaped mahogany neck (one-piece, attached with hide glue), one-piece Indian rosewood fingerboard, Custom Bucker (AlNiCo III) pickups and nickel-plated hardware.
