SG Special is an all-maple alternative to traditionally all-mahogany SG Special. Thus the body, neck and fingerboard are made of maple. Body is solid, double-cut and has beveled edges. It is in every aspect the same as the mahogany SG body, only it is made of maple. There is a total of eight color options available for this one, all are solid colors and all come with satin finish. Hardware on this SG is the same as on the mahogany SG Special. Tune-o-matic bridge is accompanied by a standard stoptail bar. In their front, Gibson installs a pair of Classic '57 humbuckers. Set in maple neck is topped with a 22-fret maple fingerboard. Black dot inlays, 12" radius and 1.695" nut complete the fingerboard.
