NAMM 2016: Fender Acoustics

A review of Fender`s new acoustic-electric models.

NAMM 2016: Fender Acoustics

Fender has unveiled six acoustic-electric models at this year`s NAMM. All of them are members of the newly established Paramount series.

At 2016 NAMM, Fender has put more focus onto the amps and accessories than guitars. Only seven electric models (all belonging to the American and Artist segments) and six acoustic models were introduced. All of the acoustic unveiled were members of the newly founded Paramount series. Paramount line is there for players who want a high quality instrument and genuine Fender experience. All models are made of solid tonewoods and with classy Fender/Fishman electronics. The differences between Deluxe and Standard models (there are three of each) include bridge and fingerboard tonewood choice (Deluxe models feature ebony, Standards rosewood) and different inlays. PM-1 Deluxe Dreadnought, PM-1 Standard Dreadnought, PM-2 Deluxe Parlor, PM-2 Standard Parlor, PM-3 Deluxe Triple-0 and PM-3 Standard Triple-0 are the names of the models.

Fender PM-1 Deluxe Dreadnought comes in two variants, Natural and Vintage Sunburst, both featuring smooth and elegant vintage styling. Solid mahogany, spruce and ebony are used on this non-cutaway dread. Fishman/Fender PM system electronics, 20-fret fingerboard and Fender tuners are also among the major specs. Fender PM-1 Standard Dreadnought is the second of two dreads in Paramount series lineup. Like its Deluxe sibling, it has solid back, sides and top, Fishman/Fender electronics and nickel-plated hardware. Rosewood fingerboard & bridge and simple MOP inlays complete this six-shooter. Fender PM-2 Standard Parlor replaces the ebony fingerboard and bridge of the Deluxe model with rosewood alternative.
