GD20CE is a model from the G20 series in Takamine G segment. G segment is dedicated to the production of a more affordable range of acoustic and acoustic-electric guitars than the standard Takamine range named Pro Series. Task of recently introduced G10 and G20 series is to form the new beginner class and offer the best possible solutions in this category. Thus, the GD20CE acts as the basic Takamine dreadnought with acoustic-electric construction. It`s body is a full-sized single-cut dreadnought made of mahogany back and sides and cedar top (all panels of the body are laminated). Minimal color palette offers only Natural color with satin finish and chrome-plated hardware. White binding around the top and triple-circle rosette around the sound hole are the only decorations found on this model. Takamine`s TP-4T preamp is mounted onto the side of the body, facing the player and is, quite possibly, the highlight of this model`s specs review. It offers the basic set of controls, including the string tuner. Mahogany neck is a standard one; it`s attached to the body with a 14th fret dovetail joint and has the series standard contour. 20-fret fingerboard on it`s top, belly-shaped rosewood bridge and die-cast tuners on the elegant headstock complete the core specs list.
