Mahogany is he most popular tone wood when it comes to single-wood guitars. It is not as exotic as koa or macassar ebony, it`s lighter than walnut and mellower than maple. Many manufacturers feature models, or even entire series dedicated to models made entirely of mahogany. Usually, both the body and neck are made of it, which is the case with Atkin`s AM Special series. There`s eight models in it and AA is one of them. It is Atkin`s own variation on auditorium theme, and it comes with a non-cutaway body made entirely of mahogany. It`s paired with a standard neck also made of mahogany. Ebony is used on this model for the regular belly-contoured bridge and 20-fret fingerboard. Grover tuners are plated in nickel.
