Les Paul Signature is one of the latest entries and most recent concepts in the 60-year history of the single-cut Les Paul guitar. When compared to the other LPs in the current lineup, Les Paul Classic and Studio spring to mind. Signature is located above them, but not so much that it is beyond comparison. Also, it is still well below the Standard, Custom and Deluxe models. Upon the closer inspection, one might see the striking construction resemblance between the subtle Classic and more flamboyant Signature. Signature kicks off with the standard mahogany and maple combination of body tonewoods. As usual, mahogany is in the back, providing the solid foundation, while the carved maple cap is found on the top. Mahogany based has what is in Gibson dictionary known as classic weight relief. It is a system of several weight relief chambers drilled behind and around the bridge. The purpose of this weight relief system is to ease the burden on the player`s shoulders, as the early Les Pauls were notorious for their weight and shoulder problems guitarists had because of them. Though reducing the weight significantly, this weight relief system does not weaken, or in any way alter the classic Les Paul tone players have gown so much used to over the past six decades. Bridge section features the standard two-piece unit made up of the tune-o-matic bridge in the front and the stoptail bar in the back. Instead of the vintage tuners found on the Les Paul Classic, Signature is equipped with the latest generation Min-E-Tune robotic tuning machines. Guided by the motto "Time spent tuning is time spent not playing", Min-E-Tune tuners are gaining more and more followers around the world. Pickups on this model are open-coiled `57 Humbuckers. These have four black coils, while the ones on the Classic come in zebra pattern. `57 humbuckers guarantee the classic Les Paul tone, sustain and experience. Controls unit installed along with them promises additional versatility and new ground to explore. Two volume knobs are fit with push/pull switches (now the humbuckers can be split in to single coils) and are accompanied by a single master tone knob. Also, in place of the second tone knob, there is a mini-switch which when engaged gives a 15db boost to the already thick and meaty `57 Classics tone. Mahogany neck rocks the `50s rounded profile in the back and a standard 22-fret rosewood fingerboard on the top. The MSRP for the mesmerizing 2014 Les Paul Signature is set at $2,288.

Great Guitar Not a fan of e-Tune however that is because I play live and do not want to depend on Electronics for tuning... Plus I am too lazy to learn how to use the stupid device. Easy fix locking tuners that install with no drilling. The case is made really nice Great fit Leather handle so nice. The Guitar finish is beautiful and fretwork is perfect so smooth. The Tone is just Kick ASS wonderful sweet. I would buy this guitar again without giving it a second thought.
Nice guitar I did change the tuners because I was Lazy and did not want to learn something New OLD School, However I ended up putting them back on and Learn how they work and I do love them... Sweet guitar.
