Back in the late 80s, Paul Reed Smith invited Ted McCarty (president of Gibson Guitars from 1950 to 1966) to help him with production and design advice. The business cooperation turned into a great friendship and in 1994 Paul Reed Smith unveiled the first McCarty guitar.
23 years later McCarty models still grace the PRS catalog, now coming in several different variants. This particular (McCarty 594) is specific for its scale length which measures exactly 24.594". Other core construction features include a double-cut mahogany body base, figured maple top (2-piece top, classic PRS contour), mahogany neck (pattern profile, glued-in construction) and 22-fret rosewood fingerboard (bird inlays, faux bone binding).
McCarty 594 also features PRS Two-Piece hardtail bridge, Phase III locking tuners and 58/15 Treble/Bass set of pickups.
