S-II is a new concept based on the already veteran S-1, and through S-1 on the classic SG. The feature which makes the S-II so distinctive is the asymmetrical cutaway design (it leans more towards the Strat proportions than the classic SG). For the newly established Platinum range, S-II Platinum comes with a solid, double-cut body equipped with a beveled top and ultra access on the lower cutaway. Entire body is made of mahogany which is a nice tribute to the legendary SG (also S-1 and S-II bodies are also pretty thin, another feature inherited from the legend). On the beveled top, there is a standard two-piece bridge unit (Satin Silver option features black hardware, white pickguard and black binding, while the Satin Black option comes with chrome hardware, black pickguard and silver binding). In front of it, Schecter installs EMG 57/66 pickups combo, one of the premier heavy metal guitarists` choices. Master volume, master tone and a three-way toggle pickup switch make up the controls. Three-piece maple neck has a thin C profile in the back and a 24-fret ebony fingerboard on top. Schecter`s locking tuners wrap the specs list.
